Calling all Barbies: It's nearly time. One of the year's biggest movies is coming to streaming platforms for download and rental as early as next week.
Greta Gerwig's "Barbie," which stars Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Will Ferrell, Hari Nef, Kate McKinnon, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Simu Liu, Emma Mackey, Michael Cera, and more, is soon to be available on Prime Video, Apple TV, and more. The film was originally intended to drop on September 5, but the digital download date got pushed out by a week to September 12, 2023.
What is 'Barbie' about?
Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" follows the journey of Barbie (Robbie), a doll in Barbieland who lives alongside a variety of other Barbie and Ken dolls, from Dr. Barbie (Hari Nef) to Mermaid Barbie (Dua Lipa) and Artist Ken (Ncuti Gatwa) to Basketball Ken (Kingsley Ben-Adir).
When Barbie starts to have fears about her own mortality, she is convinced by Weird Barbie (McKinnon) to journey to the real world, alongside Ken (Gosling). While there, she runs afoul of Mattel executives and meets Gloria (Ferrera), a Mattel employee who helps her find her way. "Barbie" is to date one of the highest-grossing films of the year, and currently ranks among the top 20 highest-grossing films of all time.

"Barbie" makes its streaming debut on September 12, dropping on streaming platforms at midnight ET on the day, or 9 p.m. PT on September 11, 2023, if you're on the West Coast.
