After a summer spent in sandals or going barefoot, are you entering fall with dry, cracked heels? Normally, I slather on foot creams, wraps, gel-lined socks, anything to try to quickly remedy my feet—but there has yet to be one quick or easy solution that delivers long-lasting results. That is, until I began using the Serum Doctor Flawless Feet Serum.

What is the Serum Doctor Flawless Feet Serum?

Serum Doctor hydrates, exfoliates, and repairs dry, cracked feet.

The Flawless Feet Serum by Serum Doctor is a roll-on foot serum that hydrates, exfoliates, and repairs dry, cracked feet. Housed in a recyclable glass bottle, the serum is meant to replace foot creams and butters that can not only be messy to apply, but that can also leave behind a sticky, greasy residue on the skin. Flawless Feet Serum is made with thoughtful ingredients like tea tree oil, sodium hyaluronate, and a fruit complex to revive feet.

The Serum Doctor Flawless Feet Serum is available on Serum Doctor's website and Saks Fifth Avenue. You can find it in one size for $42.

How I use the Serum Doctor Flawless Feet Serum

Using the Flawless Feet Serum is very user-friendly. I personally struggle with extremely cracked feet, so I tend to use the foot serum in conjunction with the Serum Doctor Flawless Foot File ($20). On dry feet, I rub the foot file back and forth onto my heels for about one minute, making sure I hit all angles of my heels. Doing this when your skin is dry ensures you don't remove healthy skin cells along with the dry ones (this is really important, as I've used other foot files on wet feet previously and have accidentally removed too much skin, which resulted in extremely painful, raw skin). Next, I'll use a slightly dampened towel to wipe away any excess dead skin. While sitting down, I then take my Flawless Feet Serum and run a few passes of the rollerball along my freshly-filed feet. I let the formula absorb into my skin for a few minutes before letting my feet touch the ground or putting on socks or shoes.

Serum Doctor instantly nixes any dryness, roughness, or cracking

It gets rid of dead, dry skin

Perhaps the most obvious reason why I love the Flawless Feet Serum is that it instantly nixes any dryness, roughness, or cracking on my heels. Unlike other foot creams or butters, it doesn't do so superficially by simply masking dryness on the surface layer of the skin—this formula actually heals at a cellular level by using a medley of gentle fruit-based exfoliants that are derived from apple, lemon, orange, and sugar cane). Just like a facial exfoliant resurfaces dry, lackluster skin, these exfoliants work together to slough away dead skin cells that are the culprit to that sandpaper-like feeling I find my heels are prone to. I love that this product makes these exfoliants available in serum form, as I typically only see them offered in a rinse-off foot scrub, which may work in the short term, but doesn't keep my feet smooth or crack-free in the long term. In addition to allowing fresh, healthy skin cells to rise to the surface via exfoliating ingredients, the foot serum is laced with sodium hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid that helps moisturize the skin and improve its texture.

It's hands-free to apply

Next to the transformative results this serum gives my feet, the application is what sets it apart from other foot-care products in my collection. With standard foot creams, I would apply them on my heels, throw on a pair of socks, and then rush to wash my hands for hygiene purposes. With the Flawless Feet Serum, it comes in a roller-ball applicator, allowing me to quickly swipe the product onto my feet while I'm at my bedside before going to sleep. The product's hands-free application also lends itself to being incredibly easy to use while on the go, so much so that I plan on getting a second one to keep in my car so that I can apply it as needed even when I'm not home. And, because the bottle contains 1.7 ounces of product, I can pop it into my carry-on bag while traveling.

It helps with foot odor

One of the hero ingredients in the Flawless Feet Serum is tea tree oil, which has antibacterial properties that make it great for use in a foot-care product—especially helpful on days I'm working out. This, combined with the fact that tea tree oil is a natural odor-neutralizing ingredient, ensures my feet stay fresh.

The serum does take a few minutes to absorb

It takes a few minutes to dry down

While the Flawless Feet Serum has a fluid, almost watery texture that dries down to a barely-there finish, it does take a few minutes for it to absorb. I typically wait a full two minutes to let it penetrate into my skin before wearing socks or putting on shoes. This isn't a deal breaker in the slightest—it just means I have to do a bit of pre-planning. For instance, if I'm getting ready to go out, I'll apply it right before I'm about to do my makeup so that when I'm done, it's completely dry and I can head out the door.

Is the Serum Doctor Flawless Feet Serum worth it?

Serum Doctor is a great solution to upkeep your foot-care routine

Yes, if you want an on-the-go solution for dry heels

The Flawless Feet Serum, especially when used in tandem with the Flawless Foot File, is a great solution to upkeep your foot-care routine in between pedicures. Even if you don't visit the nail salon regularly, the serum helps hydrate the feet, eliminate odor, and exfoliate dead skin—all without having to dirty your hands. I also find the price to be reasonable given you don't need a lot of product to see a difference. If you're looking for a solution to dry, cracked heels, this is the best I've found.
